Dinner and poker

Had a lovely dinner with Tawny at the Queen Mother tonight. We talked about a lot; men, martinis, and all everything in between. Things were made clear, at a time when they could be put in proper perspective - Tawny’s smart and intuitive that way. I am most fortunate that we have become friends.

On the ride home all I could think was how rich I am in my friends. Really, who needs money? Well, other than that necessary for a good dinner and a martini with said friends now and again.

I’ve been playing some poker. The madness has faded, and the need to play along with it, but there’s still fun to be found in cheap games with friends.

I’ve been playing $2 PLO8 SnG’s with Carson and DonK, for no other reason than it’s fun. Sometimes the poker gods fuck with me and let me ITM, and then show me what an idiot I am the very next game.

I love it when they do that.

I tried one of those new matrix games….now THOSE are fun. I screwed up the first one, but the second was a $2 with Carson. I got a first and a first for first overall. If I was still in the grip of the madness, I’d have blown my pittance of a bankroll on them by now.

For some reason, the guys at RakeBrain seem to think like I’m a real poker blogger/player or something, and invited me to their latest freeroll.

I got there late, thanks to silly drivers downtown, and proceeded to make it known to one and all that I have no clue at HA - i misread a hand so badly, I totally missed that I had the winning flush. Duh. I managed to steal a few hands, and busted before the break when Jordan rivered 3 fives against my two aces in an Omaha round.
