Yes, a poker post

I’ve been holed up in the apartment since I got home from school on Friday. That was kind of the original plan -  Keith was gigging and the weather was going to be crappy making it perfect to sit inside and watch the world go by. So when the fever and chills hit, I didn’t really miss out on anything by just staying in bed.

Love the job, but can seriously do without the exposure to all the germs.

So it’s been two days of me and my laptop firmly ensconced under the duvet. There’s been some knitting, some movie watching (Harvey and a whole bunch of Monty Python), a few failed writing attempts, and poker.

First there was the Friday Night Donkament. The rebuy madness of the NumbBlowMe game the night before had temporarily cured me of the need to go allin like a mad woman, so I managed to make it to 5th while spending far less than normal.

Pokerama had a clever idea of playing the $5 PLO mtt that was coming up, and a bunch jumped in. I’ve been playing Omaha H/L lately with Carson and DonK lately, and a side effect of that is that PLO isn’t as much of a mystery as it’s been. That’s the only explanation I have for the fact that I ITM’ed, finishing 19th.

Saturday was spent playing some of Full Tilt’s $3+.80 super turbo 300 chip SnG’s, aka the crack games. Always good for a cash, and they never seem to last more than a half hour so they didn’t put too much of a cramp in my nap schedule.

On Friday night Skidoo introduced me to the Double or Nothing games on PokerStars, so I did a bit of bankroll building with those on Saturday as well. Ski’s only advice was TAG, and I’m currently at 5 wins in 7 games through following that.

Which meant I had enough to play Dr. Pauly’s Saturday game. You know, I’m really beginning to like Pot Limit Omaha. At one point I was actually chip leader, however I lost whatever sense I had as the OTC meds kicked in and I ended up being bubble girl, alas.

I rounded out the weekend with the Brit Blogger game (where I sucked), and then a matrix with BuddyDank and Joanada (where I also sucked). Thank god for the three crack games I won to pay for the suckage.
