Eh Vegas is a week away, and I’ve only now got some time to sit still for a few hours and blog. Forgive me if this seems disjointed.
What can I say that I haven’t said before about blogger gatherings? Doesn’t matter how big or small, any chance to hang out with these folks is double plus good.
There was good conversation and lots of laughs. Oh and poker…. I have gotten slightly addicted to the hilarity of drunken five/ten cent cash games. I hope everyone had fun at the game on Saturday; I was looking at everything through the lens of a throbbing headache that drugs only dented briefly.
I realized on Sunday that I had taken no pictures; thank you to OhCaptain for volunteering to be the official photographer !
It was about three when we finally got started with seventeen players.
I busted out in 11th when my A6 short stack push got called by Stephane’s A7, and alas, there was a 7 on the board.
The game paid the top four. Poor Taylor was the bubble boy, PokerTart left in fourth and OhCaptain snagged third. Astin and the card rack known as NutzCarson (the man took out 11 players for gods sake!) exchanged chips for about an hour and a half, and then NutzCarson was victorious!
To NutzCarson, DonK, Sue and Kathy, thank you for bringing the tables and extra chips, and to everyone for the help with the set up and clean up – you guys rock.
OhCaptain, thanks so much for photographing everything.
It was so great to see PokerTart and Bankwell again, and to meet the oh-so-adorable Henry – loved the Baby Poker Tour tshirt!
And thank you to the New York contingent for braving the Buffalo border guards to play poker and hear the words of Zoltar *grin.
Huge thanks to the Tuckfards, the HADA guys (love the beer, Moose!), and Tawny for making the trip out and for helping to make it a fun weekend.
Oh, and next time we’ll definitely put the touch on Astin to cook… my usual local restaurants chose this weekend to let me down, and the meal at Kelseys in the Falls was so bad that I actually overcame my nice Canadian facade and wrote to complain (their response was to offer a gift card, which means they completely missed the point of my email; like anyone would want to eat there again!).

So jealous. It sounds like it was a blast.
I won’t miss the next one.

Ooooh, sounds like I missed a good time. I hope I can come next time, and thanks to OhCaptain for the photos. It means a lot to put faces with names.
