Day 18. So much to unpack from yesterday. Work mates switching shifts. Friends keeping aside the beer I like in case I can make it by. Catching up with an old friend. Seeing a favourite band. And a long drive home in the dark to think about life, the universe and everything. #100daysofgratitude

Day 13. I’m making my mum’s nuts and bolts recipe, and the smell is making me remember childhood and holidays. I have many friends whose memories are not great; I am grateful that mine are of love and laughter and fun. #100daysofgratitude

Day 7. I once had someone ask me if I was a hand model. They certainly wouldn’t ask that now. Scars, wrinkles, age spots, raged nails: not that attractive. But they are capable and dexterous and do what needs doing. #100daysofgratitude

Day 1. Alone again for the weekend and feeling pretty sorry for myself. Yes, we are pretty isolated up here, but I will never be anything but grateful to be living in the country again, around hills and rivers and lakes.
